History
As you are considering seminary education, you will ertainly agree with me that choosing a seminary is one of the most important decisions that you will ever be called to make. This belief stems from the fact that your life and the lives of those whom you will later minister will reflect the character and quality of your
study and experiences in seminary.

American Theological Seminary seeks to equip servant leaders for life. For one thing, we seek from the Scriptures in the original languages both the depth of understanding and the burning heart that will prepare servant leaders for life to proclaim the grace of Christ to the world.

Here, we offer theological education that is centered in The inerrant Word of God, sustained by scholarly study and research, nurtured in disciplining relationships and ministry experiences, characterized by personal growth, and directed towards effectiveness in evangelism and edification. At our seminary, you will be challenged and be called upon to discover, define, defend and disseminate the faith and the teachings of fundamentals of the Christian faith. Training at ATS focuses on personal holiness, exegetical study, and biblical theology; furthermore, it does so in the vital context of a local church.

There is nothing more thrilling and at the same time more humbling than to be called to preach the Gospel. ATS seeks to prepare able ministers of the whole Bible, persons who will preach Christ from all the Scriptures in the full glory of biblical theology.

Although we are an educational institution, we fulfill our mission in the spirit of a family where we love
one another and help each other to achieve God¡¯s best in our lives. Our seminary is small enough to care
about every individual but large enough to provide quality education. The graduates of ATS are serving
Him in churches, Christian schools and mission organization, in many different places around the world.

I am excited about what God is doing at ATS. By the help of the Holy Spirit, our dedicated faculty will, again, train men and women with scholarship and divine passion, thus equipping them to translate
biblical truth into life. As God lays the future out before us, I encourage you to be part of that future with us at American Theological Seminary.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Hae soung Kim, Th.D.
