The
purpose of American Theological Seminary is to prepare persons
for Christian ministry. The Seminary currently offers degrees
in three areas of training: Theology, Church Music and Christian
Education. Degree programs are divided into the professional or
Master-level programs, entered on the basis of a college degree,
and the advanced or Doctor- level programs, entered on the basis
of seminary professional degree.

Basic Professional
Degree Programs:
a. Master of Divinity (M. Div.)
b. Master of Religious Education (M.R.E.)
c. Master of Sacred Music (M.S.M.)
The professional degree programs train persons to serve as pastors,
chaplains, missionaries, evangelists, Christian educators, church
music pastors, campus ministers, and many other ministerial roles.

The purpose of the advanced degree programs is to equip students
of exceptional ability for outstanding service in various Christian
ministries. Their respective purposes and requirements are discussed

Colloquy Program
The colloquy program for the pastoral ministry is arranged
under the auspices of the Colloquy Committee of the Pacific Presbytery
of the ARPC, in order to receive pastors from other denominations,
and candidates who have completed their theological training elsewhere.

Pre-seminary
Program: Bachelor of Art in Theology (B.A. in theology)
The purpose of this degree is to equip students with the necessary
background in education to pursue an advanced graduate program in
theology and Christian Education. |

Certificate
Programs:
a. Missionary Program
b. Deaconess Program
c. Early childhood Education Program
d. ESL Program
e. Montessori Program
The purpose of these non-degree certificate program is to train
those students who seek to devote their lives on the God-given
mission of parish caring, mission (both foreign and home), and
teaching of the young children. The respective purposes and requirements
