MASTER OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (M.R.E.)

Purpose
The purpose of the Master of Religious Education Program (M.R.E.) is to equip persons for competent leadership in the educational ministries of the Church. The focus of the program is on educational ministry and practice in the local church. In addition to the transfer of foundational
knowledge and professional skills, the program endeavors to foster the personal and spiritual development of the student.

The Master of Religious Education program is designed for students who hold a bachelor¡¯s degree or its equivalent from an approved four-year institution. The course of study will include many of the subjects required for the Master of Divinity degree. In place of specific pastoral
courses, this program offers courses in religious education designed to equip the graduate for services as a teacher or administrator for Christian school.

 
REQUIREMENT FOR THE DEGREE
In order to qualify for the M.R.E. degree, 64 credit hours (exclusive of propaedeutic Greek) must be earned with a grade point average of 2.00 or better.

A student must be present at the Commencement exercises in order to receive the degree.

 
RECOMMENDED SCHEDULE

Two-Year Program

Students who have had beginning Greek and have Passed the qualifying test are not required to repeat Greek I And Greek II. Before admission to the M.R.E. program, the Greek requirement must be completed.
